A Moss Adams webcast, presented by Roy Deaver, National Tax Partner, and Ken Harvey, Partner, on January 16, 2018.

Tax reform largely rewrites the international tax system. We’ll cover essential topics for multinational companies and companies considering overseas operations.

This webcast is part of our series on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, signed by President Trump on December 22, 2017. The most sweeping change to tax law since 1986, the bill will broadly impact businesses and individuals.

Standard deduction doubled but personal exemption eliminated, which makes it the same for some people

Uninsured 😀 sure, an uninsured person can walk into any emergency room and get care fully paid for by the working class. 😀

"If you're a big earner, you got lucky" – If you make more than $9525 a year, your taxes are likely decreasing. Luck has nothing to do with it, but thanks for the spin, NBC.

My taxes will go from $4000 guaranteed to pretty much $2000 that’s a ripoff in my opinion you get penalized for not being married

Love how she mentions that less people will be insured but dosn't mention that it's because they don't need it and are no longer forced to buy it. She also fails to mention that illiminating the mandate save the government billions.

Who is responsible for the degradation of the tax bill after 2020. Was it a compromise the democrats insisted on? The tax bill seems to revert back the original tax bill maybe worse by 2027. I guess Trump hopes to be re-elected in 2020, to correct the compromise force on him, by the democrats. I notice the media put a spin on the degradation in a negative way without explain the reasons, why? Anyway for the next 4 years enjoy a health tax return. After that its in the hands of the next president or Trump.

The Senate caved and brought back the SALT and Mortgage Interest Deductions. Had they not done it there would be only 4 tax brackets instead of the current 7 and the post card tax returns would have been a reality. Only 30% of Americans were itemizing tax deductions before this bill which is expected to reduce it to 6%. People who opt to itemize instead of claiming the standard deduction tend to be upper middle class or even wealthier. The only two deductions that should be on the tax returns are for charitable contributions and an enhanced medical expenses deduction (which should let you deduct a portion of your health insurance premiums so buying insurance is incentivized as oppose to people choosing not to buy being penalized like with Obamacare).

1. The cuts expiring was just an accounting gimmick for the CBO score. The tax cuts won't expire unless Congress votes for a tax bill and we all know Republicans aren't going to vote to increase taxes. You know this NBC. Don't spread FAKE NEWS. That was only done because the CBO score doesn't factor in growth from tax cuts… which is why the CBO score is ALWAYS wrong because growth ALWAYS happens after tax cuts.
2. 13 million MAY lose health coverage ? Did you mean, 13 million will now have the option to buy insurance if they choose ? Before this bill, everyone was legally required to buy insurance, even if you didn't need or want it.
NBC really is FAKE NEWS.

A fair, territorial system based upon formulary apportionment will tax the profits of companies as the price of access to US consumers. American companies can export tax free. Tax haven abuse will be nearly eliminated. Our companies should not be taxed more than global companies with armies of accountants and lawyers. Sign our petition to tell Congress that we need a Sales Factor Apportionment for a truly America First tax system!
